Dear GCFR Exhibitors, Family and Friends

2020 has been an exceedingly difficult year for the fair industry nationwide. The COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing has interrupted all our lives, with cancellation of schools, no large gatherings even with family outside of your home and the cancellation of our 2020 Galveston County Fair & Rodeo. We are all trying to do our part to stay safe. We all must stay focused on getting through this trying time. The GCFR Board has been hard at work planning the 2021 Fair. The decisions we have had to make to safely have our fair, have not been taken lightly. We have decided to revise our schedule and come up with a modified livestock show so our exhibitors, who have worked so hard all year long raising animals, are able to show and go to auction. We are trying to work out the time for all the events, so we do not have overlapping check in’s and shows. Unfortunately, with the spike of COVID-19 in the community, not being able to have large gatherings, we have been forced to cancel some of our events, such as Livestock Judging, Pee Wee Swine, all the contests and even the Rodeo. Our plan is to still have a BBQ Cook-off, Mutton Bustin’, Team Roping & a Barrel Race event.
